
ORCA SUMMER 2026 SWIM TEAM
The mission of the ORCA (Oak Ridge City Aquatics) is to provide an organized, competitive swimming program for the youth of the Oak Ridge area. The program is designed for children ages 6-18. It encourages and emphasizes good sportsmanship, self-discipline, fitness and achievement of goals. ORCA strives to instill a lifelong love of swimming through enjoyment and accomplishment at all levels.

- Meet the Coach/Parent Q&A May 13 5pm – Civic Center,
(held just after new swimmer try-outs.)
- New swimmer Try-Outs Civic Center Swimming Pool May 13 4pm-5pm
(Must be able to swim 50 yards, 1 full lap, showing freestyle motion and a grasp on breathing technique. No underwater or doggy paddle swim accepted)
WHO: Oak Ridge City Aquatic (ORCA) Summer League Swim Team. We swim with the Greater Knoxville Swim League and compete with surrounding community pools. We will travel to meets.
WHEN: Practice has two options; Morning or Afternoon. Monday thru Thursday 9:30am to 11am AND/OR Monday thru Thursday evenings 5pm to 6:30pm starting June 1st and ends towards mid-July at the Championship Meet. (practice could be adjusted/grouped by coach)
WHERE: Practices are held at the Municipal Outdoor Swimming Pool 25-meter Course. Swim meets will require traveling. The farthest meet may be an hour+ away. Meets are generally held on Tuesday or Thursday in the evening. Participation in Swim Meets are optional but required to participate in the Championship Meet.
FEES: $200/swimmer-This fee includes one team suit, swim cap, and t-shirt and 7 weeks of practice. Championship Meet may require additional fees.
PURPOSE: The purpose of ORCA is to provide an opportunity for fun, low-pressure competition to area swimmers – novice to veterans.
